The Detroit Tigers may be looking to shore up their pitching rotation with a free agent signing in the near future.

The Tigers -- along with the Baltimore Orioles and Cincinnati Reds -- have shown interest in veteran starter Kyle Lohse, according to MLB Network insider Jon Heyman.

The 37-year-old last pitched for the Milwaukee Brewers last season. He tallied a 5.85 ERA and 1.47 WHIP in 37 games (22 starts) with the Brewers.

The Tigers' rotation has been inconsistent to begin the 2016 campaign, posting a 4.45 ERA through the first 11 games of the season. The only Tigers' starter with an ERA under 3.00 is Jordan Zimmermann, who has yet to give up a run through two starts.

Meanwhile, Justin Verlander and Mike Pelfrey have struggled out of the gate. The two have given up .323 and .351 batting averages to opponents so far, receptively.

The Tigers still have one starter in the minors rehabbing from a spring training injury. Daniel Norris has given up three runs in six innings with the Lakeland Flying Tigers so far in 2016 after suffering a back injury in March.
