Fans Turn Out To Watch Lions Practice
One day before fans get a chance to watch the Detroit Lions practice, the team and holdout defensive lineman Ndamukong Suh agreed to terms of a five-year contract, league sources told ESPN Tuesday night.
A former Nebraska defensive lineman, Suh was the No. 2 pick overall in the NFL draft.
According to team sources, the two sides have agreed on the terms of the deal, but still are signing off on the language of it. The deal will not be signed until the language is completed.
The numbers were projected to come in north of $12 million a year, which means the deal will be worth over $60 million dollars. Suh is guaranteed $40 million.
Tensions were high this week as Suh missed the first few days of training camp.
Wednesday, Lions fans will get their first chance to watch the 2010 team in action.
The Lions will open their headquarters and training facility in Allen Park to the public for the fourth consecutive year. Fans are invited to watch the Lions free of charge.
Twice-daily workouts start at nine in the morning and again at 3:15 p.m. In addition, there's a public practice at Ford Field Saturday, August 7, at 3 p.m. It's also free, and tickets are not required.
Gates open 30 minutes before the workouts begin. Hundreds of fans were in line early Wednesday morning to watch the first practice.
