Report On Ruptured Pipeline Delayed
DETROIT (WWJ) - A final report detailing the cause of a 2010 pipeline rupture in southern Michigan is being delayed.
WWJ Newsradio 950's Paul Snider tells us that the report had been expected anytime now but the release is being delayed until fall.
According to the National Transportation Safety Board, it's because of other ongoing investigations into unrelated pipeline incidents.
An NTSB spokesman says the investigation is looking into a number of potential causes, including pipeline operations and materials, and human error.
The July, 2010, spill sent more than 800,000 gallons of oil into the Kalamazoo River and a tributary, when a 30-inch pipeline owned be western Canada-based Enbridge Inc. ruptured.
Cleanup operations continue.
