CBS DETROIT - Following the departure of heralded defensive coordinator Pat Narduzzi, Michigan State promoted a pair of assistants, Harlon Barnett and Mike Tressel, to co-coordinators. Now the Spartans have made another move, hiring former Texas A&M defensive coordinator Mark Snyder, according to Bruce Feldman of Fox Sports.
Snyder had been the coordinator for the Aggies since 2012. Before that he served in the same position for South Florida, and from 2005 to 2009 Snyder was the head coach at Marshall. It is not yet known what Snyder's role will be at Michigan State.
The Spartans have boasted one of the best defenses in college football for years. Not coincidentally, Michigan State has won 11 games or more in four of the last five seasons.
