Report: Driver In Fatal Crash Had Record
Recent developments have surfaced on the driver of a pickup truck that was involved in a Chesterfield Township fatal crash.
The driver, who slammed into an elderly couple's car Friday and killed them instantly, had a long list of driving violations and was driving with an invalid license.
The Macomb Daily reports that the driver was 63-year-old Glen Brockett of Eastpointe.
Police said he was driving with a suspended license when his vehicle crossed the center line on Jefferson in Chesterfield and collided with a Mercury Sable.
In the Sable, Raymond and Sylvia Novelly, both 84-years-old, were pronounced dead at the scene. Brockett only suffered a broken nose.
Police said they found a partially consumed bottle of whiskey in the truck. Alcohol has been a factor in previous driving violations.
Brockett was convicted of driving while impaired by alcohol in January in Eastpointe, according to the Secretary of State's office.
After being issued a restricted license and failing to pay the $1,000 reinstatement fee in May, his license was suspended.
It's unclear at this point what charges Brockett could face.
