Repeal Of Helmet Law Passes The Michigan Senate
LANSING (WWJ) - The first major hurdle has been passed for those wishing to ride without a helmet on a motorcycle.
The Michigan Senate approved Tuesday by a 24-14 vote to allow motorcyclists ages 21 and over to ride without a helmet.
The measure now moves on for approval to the House and it is unclear whether Gov. Rick Snyder will sign legislation if it gets to his desk.
This is not the first time legislation has come to the governor's desk to repeal the helmet law; in the past those were vetoed by then Governor Jennifer Granholm.
