Repairs To Pipeline Under St. Clair River To Begin
LANSING (WWJ) Michigan congresswoman Candice Miller says work is expected to begin next week to replace a pipeline under the St. Clair River.
Canadian based Enbridge, Inc. announced plans for the project shortly after another portion of the pipeline ruptured in July 2010, spilling more than 800,000 gallons of crude oil near Battle Creek.
Endbridge says it plans to replace about 3,500 feet of the 30-inch pipeline.
Pressure in the line was reduced in 2009 after a dent was discovered in the section beneath the St. Clair River.
