Red Wings' Win Sets Up First-Round Battle With Phoenix
When Brad Stuart scored in overtime Sunday, he secured the Red Wings a fifth-place finish in the NHL's Western Conference, and a first-round trip to the desert to play the Coyotes.
The Wings, 3-2 winners against second-seeded Chicago at United Center, went 2-0-2 against Phoenix during the regular season. The NHL didn't immediately put out a schedule, but the Wings said they'll play Wednesday and Friday in Phoenix, and that Game 3 will be Sunday in Detroit. The Wings will start on the road for the first time in the opening round since 1991.
