Red Wings Players, Alumni Ringing Bells For Salvation Army Around Metro Detroit
DETROIT - On Friday, the several Detroit Red Wings will trade in their hockey sticks for Salvation Army bells.
A number of Detroit Red Wings players, alumni and staff will compete against each other to see who can raise the most money for 11th annual "Red Wings for Red Kettles" STRIVE floor hockey program.
A release from the Red Wings says that you'll be able to get autographs -- at all locations -- for a suggested minimum $10 donation.
The floor hockey program -- introduced in 2009, the program teaches the basics of the sport, team building skills and positive sportsmanship behavior to children ages 8-12.
Continuing a holiday tradition, they'll ring bells at four metro Detroit retail locations.
