Red Wings Celebrate 200th Consecutive Sellout Tonight During Home Game Against the Boston Bruins
DETROIT – The Detroit Red Wings are set to skate in front of a capacity crowd (20,027) at Joe Louis Arena for the 200th straight time tonight when the Boston Bruins visit Detroit for a 7:30 p.m. showdown of Original Six foes (FOX Sports Detroit / 97.1 The Ticket). Since the sellout streak began on December 19, 2010, the Red Wings have welcomed more than four million fans to Joe Louis Arena.
"Our sellout streak would not be possible without the tremendous loyalty and support we've received from the fans of Hockeytown," said Tom Wilson, President and CEO of Olympia Entertainment. "We look forward to celebrating this milestone with an electric atmosphere within The Joe as we recognize fans for their continued support throughout the last five seasons."
To pay tribute to the fans of Hockeytown for their continued support, the Red Wings will give away 200 prizes to fans in attendance tonight and to those following the Red Wings social media channels and registering for enter-to-win promotions. Prizes include Little Caesars 5-Game Ticket Combos, a newly unveiled 2016 Coors Light NHL Stadium Series™ jersey, autographed Detroit Red Wings merchandise and memorabilia, tickets to upcoming Red Wings games and Olympia Entertainment events, numerous gift cards from Red Wings sponsors and much more.
Additionally, tonight's game will mark the first time fans can purchase 2016 Coors Light NHL Stadium Series™ jerseys that the Red Wings will wear during their matchup against the Colorado Avalanche on Feb. 27 at Coors Field in Denver. The jerseys will be available for purchase at merchandise stands throughout Joe Louis Arena during all remaining Red Wings home games.
