Red Wings 4, Sharks 3
DETROIT (WWJ/AP) - Wings goalie Jimmy Howard made several clutch saves in the final minutes to help Detroit beat the San Jose Sharks 4-3 on Friday night.
As heard on 97.1 The Ticket the Wings force a Game 5 with the win over San Jose. "We had to win tonight and that's what we did," says Detroit's Nicklas Lidstrom about the win over the Sharks.
Asked about his first of two goals scored in the win Lidstrom says, "...it hit my shin and bounced in front of me, and I just whacked it out of the air."
To seal the deal with the game tied, Darren Helm scored with 1:27 left in the third period, lifting the Detroit Red Wings over the San Jose Sharks in Game 4 of the Western Conference semifinal series.
The Sharks will take their 3-1 series lead back home with a chance to advance on Sunday night to the NHL's final four.
Detroit is trying to become the fourth NHL team to win a series after trailing 3-0.
