Red Wings 3, Blackhawks 2
DETROIT (WWJ) - The Detroit Red Wings tie a franchise record with their 14th consecutive home ice victory - beating the Chicago Blackhawks in OT 3-2 on Saturday.
As heard on 97.1 The Ticket - Todd Bertuzzi put in his second goal of the game and the OT winner to beat the Blackhawks.
Tomas Holmstrom got the Wings on the board first - scoring on a power play for Detroit.
An open net goal by Chicago's Andrew Shaw in the second period put the Blackhawks on the board and made it a 2-1 game.
With Detroit up 2-1 with under a minute to play Chicago pulled goalie Corey Crawford to get the man advantage on ice and Chicago's Jonathan Toews scored the tying goal with 51 seconds to play in the third to send the game into overtime.
Wings goalie Jimmy Howard had 25 saves and his 26th win of the season - in the win over Chicago - Blackhawks goalie Corey Crawford had 40 saves.
The Wings have been unbeaten at home since a loss to Calgary on Nov. 3.
Pavel Datsyuk assisted on two goals in the game - he along with Howard will represent the Wings at the All-Star game in two weeks.
