Recycling Group Sponsors Guided Video Journey Through Recycling Plant
SOUTHFIELD (WWJ) -- In honor of America Recycles Day, ReCommunity and the Resource Recovery and Recycling Authority of Southwest Oakland County released a guided video journey through a Materials Recycling Facility.
"With school budgets facing growing shortfalls, field trips to the local ReCommunity Michigan MRFs are becoming more challenging to arrange," said ReCommunity's Stephen Klemann. "So, ReCommunity has focused its strategy on creating leading-edge educational tools that are free and available online to help promote recycling education in communities throughout the area."
The new Virtual MRF tour, which also comes in a version containing Spanish subtitles, is part of ReCommunity's new state-of-the-art education website. The site contains everything an educator may need: teacher lesson plans, animated videos, educator resources, and a Virtual MRF. For children, teachers, organizations, and seniors interested in learning, visit www.ReCommunity.com/Education for a virtual, 360-degree recycling tour.
"Education is crucial to increasing the quantity and quality of recycled materials, which benefits our communities economically and environmentally," said Mike Csapo, RRRASOC general manager. "As part of our public-private partnership with ReCommunity, our community receives some of the most innovative approaches to recycling education. The more we know, the more we benefit."
