Recuperating Lions RB Jahvid Best Makes Solid Case To Play

Lions rookie running back Jahvid Best said his injured right toe is feeling better, and is confident he'll play Sunday against the Packers.

"Oh, yeah, definitely," Best said about playing. "It's been getting better so far and it's looking like I'll be ready to go this week."

Best said he'll practice today to test the toe out, and it'll really just come down to how much pain he can deal with Sunday.

Without Best for much of last week's game against the Vikings, the Lions struggled to run, compiling six yards in the second half.

Best, named the NFL's offensive rookie of the month for September, leads all rookies with 307 total yards (183 receiving, 124 rushing) and has a league-best five touchdowns (four rushing).

Best is the first rookie since Billy Sims in 1980 to score five touchdowns in his first two career games.
