Record Temps In Forecast, Along With Possible Storms
DETROIT (WWJ) - If you've got an inflatable pool for the kids, you may want to pull it out of storage. AccuWeather Meteorologist Dean Devore says we're expecting near-record high temperatures Sunday and Monday.
"In 2006 we got to 92 (degrees) on Memorial Day, most times we're in the 70s and even low 80s is not a stretch for this time of year, and today we'll approach the record of 91 set back in 1911," says Devore.
"Feels like we've flipped ahead a holiday, feels more like a 4th (of July) than a Memorial Day ... 93 is the record temp on Monday, we'll be approaching that, also set in 1911," said Devore.
Devore says the metro Detroit area may also see some showers or thunderstorms, so keep those umbrellas within arm's reach.
