Record High Temperatures Toast Michigan
SOUTHFIELD (WWJ) - New weather records set throughout Michigan on Thursday.
In Detroit, the high temperature hit 85 degrees making this the hottest day in March. Lansing had a record high of 83 today breaking the old record of 81 set in 1938. In Muskegon, today's high of 79 broke a previous record of 68 degrees set in 1979.
Meantime, some severe weather was reported in Southeast Michigan Thursday afternoon. Hail and heavy rain has been falling in the Rochester Hills area near Oakland University.
Forecasters say we could hit a record high again on Friday, with some thunderstorms expects. It will cool down just a bit for the weekend.
