Rave Computer Awarded $2.4 Million Pilot Training Technology Refresh
STERLING HEIGHTS -- Rave Computer, Michigan's leading hardware consultant and manufacturer, today announced it has passed First Article Testing for the Aviation Combined Arms Tactical Trainer Technology Refresh with zero discrepancies.
Eight Rave Instrument Projector Display Generator computers were installed and tested without defects or issues during the FAT. As a result, Rave was officially awarded a $2.4 million contract for services and upgrades to more than 1,200 Instrument Projector Display Generator computers.
Rave was sub-contracted by Daedalus Technologies, Inc., a Florida based simulation company, for the AVCATT CY2012 Technology Refresh Contract to upgrade the IPDGs. These upgrades are part of an ongoing effort to enhance performance and efficiency and provide cost savings to the field AVCATT system.
AVCATT is a mobile, transportable, multi-station virtual simulation device designed to support unit collective and combined arms training. Real-time human-in-the-loop simulations allow pilots to train in mission rehearsal and flight operations, incorporating both Semi-Autonomous Force and Virtual Simulation Environments. This fully interactive training is critical to pilots, as it allows them to maintain and hone their combat skills, tactics, and techniques. AVCATT systems an emulate a wide range of situations such as AH-64A Apache, OH-58D Kiowa Warrior, UH-60A/L Blackhawk, CH-47D Chinook and AH-64D Apache Longbow platforms.
