Raiola Blasts Lions' Titus Young
DETROIT (AP/CBS Detroit) Exiled Lions player Titus Young had little to say Friday -- but team captain Dominic Raiola held nothing back during a press conference.
Young, a second-year receiver, spoke with reporters Friday for the first time since returning to practice after coach Jim Schwartz ejected him from the practice field for reasons he hasn't outlined and kept him out of the Thanksgiving Day game.
Young rejoined the team for practice Wednesday.
Sitting in front of his locker wearing a pair of sunglasses, he spoke for less than two minutes before the session was cut short by media relations personnel. He said he didn't want to discuss the past and that "what happens in house, stays in house."
In a separate interview with the Detroit News' Chris McCosky, Raiola let loose on Young.
"We've moved on from him, if he wants to be a f*** a**hole, let him be a f*** a**hole," Raiola said. "It's not my problem. What we can control is the guys who want to be here. I want people who want to be here, and I think everybody else wants the same thing.
"If you don't want to be here, then leave."
Of his future, Schwartz has said only that the ball is in Young's court, while Calvin Johnson said the coach had to send Young home. QB Matthew Stafford sounded a more moderate tone on the Valenti & Foster show this week on 97.1 The Ticket, saying he will welcome Young back.
Detroit hosts Indianapolis on Sunday, and it's not clear yet if Young will be active.
