Question Of Support For Planned Restructuring Of Detroit Schools
DETROIT (WWJ) - Detroit School Board President Anthony Adams appeared before City Council Tuesday to promote Financial Manager Robert Bobb's plan to close more schools in June.
WWJ Newsradio 950's Florence Walton reports that Adams' claim that there is strong support among the board was challenged.
"The national data that I have read, there have only been two national research studies on charters as a whole, they are not doing as well as public schools," says Board Member Ida Short. "This is Bobb's plan, that he planned before ever presenting it to the board."
