Pulse Primary Care plans nearly 600 jobs at new Wayne County headquarters
LIVONIA, Mich. (CBS DETROIT) - Pulse Primary Care, which provides medical services to patients across the nation, will create new headquarters in Livonia.
The Michigan Economic Development Corporation made the announcement Tuesday as part of a list of developments across Michigan that will create a total 732 new jobs and generate over $65 million in private investment. An announcement of the business plans for Piston Automotive also was part of the MEDC report.
The project from Pulse Primary Care will create at least 579 new jobs for skilled healthcare professionals, with a capital investment of at least $10.5 million. A Michigan Business Development Program performance-based grant of $3.45 million will support the effort.
"Pulse Primary Care is a growing Michigan company. As they expand nationally, their decision to build a headquarters here is significant," Maureen Donohue Krauss, president and CEO, Detroit Regional Partnership, said in the announcement. "It demonstrates to companies around the country that we can also attract the talent they need because the Detroit Region is not only great for business, it's a fantastic place to live."
The company already has locations in Battle Creek, Dearborn, Lenox and Livonia; along with Texas and Massachusetts.
The new headquarters will serve as a technology hub and training center for the company's care managers, the announcement said. Those individuals are tasked with improving care and lowering hospital admissions for patients.
"I am proud to announce our innovative approach to primary care services. By harnessing advanced technology, we are revolutionizing patient care by monitoring health in between visits," said Dr. Belal Abdallah, CEO of Pulse Primary Care. "Our vision to expand nationwide starts with the establishment of our headquarters in Michigan, a strategic decision that reflects our commitment to excellence and growth."
