Protesters Not In Support Of 'Canadian' Bridge
DETROIT (WWJ) - While the Democratic State Convention was going on in Cobo Center today, there was a protest just outside Cobo's doors.
In front of Cobo Center on Washington Blvd. about 100 people marched, chanting: "Say no to a Canadian bridge," after news surfaced that Canada is in support of the DRICP, (Detroit River International Crossing Project) and is apparently ready to put up most of the money to make it happen.
The protesters also chanted 'Fire Mark Brewer' (Michigan Democratic Party Chair) because Brewer supports the project.
Phil Green with the Black and Brown Advocates of Detroit organized the protest."These are the people that put people in office, the political officials in office, and we want him to know where we stand on our thoughts and opinions and why support something that is not U.S. American?" Green said.
