Protesters Demand That BOA Halt Foreclosures
DETROIT (WWJ)- Members of "Occupy Detroit" staged a rally downtown on Tuesday demanding that Bank of America put a two-year moratorium on foreclosures and foreclosure-related evictions in Michigan.

Speaking to WWJ's Sandra McNeil, the group's Jerry Goldberg, who is also a part of "Moratorium Now," said he's an attorney who handled foreclosures, and he's seen the bank refuse to work with homeowners who are struggling.
"My home is selling for one-tenth for what I bought it for because there are so many foreclosures in my neighborhood and that's typical for the city and all over this state. It's time to put a stop to the foreclosures," Goldberg said, adding that the bank received millions of dollars in TARP bailout funds.
"We're paying for those loans. They got another $7 billion under the Home Affordable Modification Act to modify loans, but they refuse to modify loans," Goldberg said.
"People call for a modification, their papers get lost, they get tossed in the garbage and the next thing they know they're losing their home," he said.
The group is promising a larger rally in front of the bank on Friday, complete with those who have lost their homes.
WWJ has a call out to Bank of America for comment.
