Prosecutor: Mich. Lawyer Tried To Intimidate Ex
A downriver attorney is looking at more than 15 years behind bars in a witness intimidation case. Authorities Gregory J. Rohl tried to intimidate an ex-girlfriend who made a domestic violence claim against him by suing her for $250,000.
Wayne County Prosecutor Kym Worthy says 48-year-old Rohl of Trenton was arraigned last week on a charge of witness intimidation, a felony punishable by up to 15 years in prison.
Rohl denies the charge, calling it a "fabrication.'' He also denies assaulting his ex-girlfriend and says the prosecutor's office is targeting him because he sued Worthy in federal court claiming misconduct in an unrelated case.
Worthy said Monday that Rohl told the woman he would drop the $250,000 suit if she dropped the April domestic violence case.
Rohl's will be back in court next month. He's free on bond.
