Prosecutor Builds Case Against Serial Stabbing Suspect
Authorities in the Flint area are working to build cases against a man suspected in a string of stabbings that left five men dead.
Genesee County Prosecutor David Leyton tells The Associated Press that investigators have "retraced'' their steps and re-interviewed nine men who survived a string of 14 attacks from late May to early this month.
Four other attacks occurred in Virginia and Ohio. Leyton said his office is communicating with prosecutors in those states.
He expects 33-year-old Elias Abuelazam to be returned to Michigan next week. Abuelazam was arrested Aug. 11 in Atlanta while waiting to board a flight to Israel.
Abuelazam's attorney Brian Morley said his client only is charged with assault with intent to murder in the stabbing of a Flint man.
