Probation Officer Recommends Jailtime For MSU's Rucker

A probation officer has recommended 21 days in jail for Michigan State senior cornerback Chris Rucker after his arrest early Sunday on a drunk driving charge, just hours after MSU defeated Michigan.

Rucker is on probation after pleading guilty to assault and battery stemming from an on-campus brawl last fall.

According to court documents, Rucker, who is from Warren, Ohio, violated terms of probation, including purchasing, possessing or consuming alcohol or illegal drugs.

Rucker has been suspended from the team indefinitely.  Rucker's position coach, Harlon Barnet called Rucker "a great kid" and said they hope to have him back on the team.

He's due to appear in East Lansing district court for his arraignment on October 20. A determination on a jail sentence could be made at that time.
