Pro Squash Championships This Weekend In Detroit
DETROIT (WWJ) - It's the sport, not the fruit. The Pro Squash 2012 World Championship tour will be held in Detroit this weekend.
WWJ Newsradio 950's Chrystal Knight talked with Australian Dan Palmer, one of the sport's most dominant players -- winning the prestigious British Open, four times and holding countless titles.
According to Palmer, if you love raquetball, you'll probably love Squash.
"The size of the court is a little different and the ball and the rackets are a little bit different, but it's the same sort of concept," Palmer said.
"It's an indoor sport played with two people on the court, and a high fast-paced sport ... which can be pretty exciting at times."
The Pro Squash Championships start Friday night (May 4) and continues Saturday and Sunday at the Detroit Athletic Club.
