Pro Bowler, Actor Bubba Smith Dies at 66

Bubba Smith, a two-time Pro Bowler and who was one of the stars in the Police Academy movies, was found dead at his home Wednesday, the Los Angeles Times reports.

Officials tell the paper they believe Smith, 66, died of naturally causes.

Smith played for the Colts, Raiders and Oilers from 1967-76, and he made the Pro Bowl in 1970 and 1971 as a defensive end.

Smith was a two-time All-America defensive end at Michigan State University. He played in "the game of the century" between Michigan State and Notre Dame in 1966, a 10-10 tie that resulted in the two teams' splitting the vote for that year's national championship. Which was also Michigan State's last national championship.

Smith is also a member of the college football Hall of Fame.
