Prison Ordered For UP Woman Who Bit Man's Nose
BARAGA (AP) - An Upper Peninsula woman who took a bite out of a man's nose has been sent to federal prison for nearly four years.
Donalyn Taisto of Baraga was accused of biting the tip of a man's noise, striking him with a lamp and cutting him with a knife last April. The government says the victim may need four or five additional surgeries.
The 41-year-old Taisto was sentenced last week by a judge in Marquette. The assault occurred on the Keweenaw Bay Indian Reservation, which put the case in federal court.
In a court filing, defense attorney Sarah Henderson says her client has had trouble with alcohol.
