Princess Diana Exhibit Opens At Grand Rapids Museum
A much-anticipated exhibit focusing on the life of Britain's Princess Diana opens today at the Grand Rapids Art Museum.
One of the highlights--the dress and the diamond tiara Diana Spencer wore when she married Prince Charles in 1981. The show will also include the text of the eulogy given by Diana's brother at her 1997 funeral.
Exhibit sponsor Pamella DeVos says she anticipates a big crowd, considering the dress was seen by many across the world. "There's so many of us that love Princess Diana and followed her from day one. I was married two weeks after her, so I was one that was up at 3, 4:00 in the morning to watch her," DeVos said.
Items that make up "Diana - A Celebration," are on loan from the Spencer family estate. It's only the eleventh time the exhibit has been shown in the world. The exhibit runs through February 16 and is part of the museum's 100th anniversary celebration.
