Prince Fielder On World Series Loss: 'It's Not That Bad'
DETROIT (97.1 The Ticket) Prince Fielder kept up his usual good spirits after the Tigers were swept in four World Series games by the San Francisco Giants.
Refusing to be down in the dumps, Fielder told sports writers after the game, "Anytime you lose to World Series champs, it's not that bad."
Fielder was 1-for-14 in the series, reaching base once on a single and getting thrown out at home plate during a pivotal moment in game two. Commenting on how exactly the Giants topped them in four games, Fielder said, "That's why they won, they wouldn't go away."
Overall, Fielder, signed to a $214 million, nine-year contract with the Tigers, gave the impression he was satisfied with the way the season turned out.
"It's a great season, we got here, there are a lot of teams that would love to be here."
