Presidential Candidates, Supporters Make Final Push In Michigan Before Election Day
STERLING HEIGHTS (WWJ) -- In the final days leading into the 2016 Presidential election approach, both candidates and their supporters will make one final push in Michigan, which has now become a swing state.
Republican nominee Donald Trump will make an appearance in Sterling Heights at Freedom Hill Amphitheater at 6 p.m. on Sunday evening. Trump just made a tour through Michigan on Monday, visiting Grand Rapids and Warren.
Trump's running mate, Mike Pence, will also make another stop in Michigan -- his fourth in the past week -- in Traverse City, according to the Detroit News.
The Democratic team is also set to make a push throughout the state. Bill Clinton, former President and husband of Democratic nominee Hillary Clinton, will be in Lansing on Sunday. Hillary will make a stop in Grand Rapids on Monday, just days after she made a speech to supporters in Detroit's Eastern Market.
President Barack Obama will also be in Michigan as he visits Ann Arbor's Ray L. Fisher Stadium on Monday.
A recent poll from the Detroit Free Press shows Clinton's lead in Michigan could be as small a four points heading into the last days before the election. However, some polls have Clinton leading Trump in Michigan by up to nine points.
The last Republican nominee to win the Michigan was George H.W. Bush in 1988.
