President Obama To Visit Chrysler Transmission Plant
Less than a week after the successful launch of GM stock, the Obama Administration is turning its focus to Chrysler.
President Obama will tout the auto industry's turnaround in his visit to a Chrysler transmission plant in Kokomo, Indiana Tuesday. Vice President Joe Biden will accompany Mr. Obama on the trip. This is a follow-up to visits the president made to Detroit and Chicago back in the summer.
Chrysler CEO Sergio Marchionne says the progress his company has made in the past year has been incredible. "You know, by any stretch of industrial dexterity, this is a miracle. I think it's proof of the power of leadership and the ability of people to get things done," Marchionne told WWJ's Jeff Gilbert.
Tuesday, Chrysler said it will invest another $843 million in its facilities in Kokomo. (More on this).
