Prelim Exam Resumes For Father Accused Of Murder Of Missing 2-Year Old Daughter
DETROIT (WWJ) - An FBI agent took to the stand Thursday in a preliminary exam of the Detroit father accused in the murder of his still missing 2-year-old daughter.
WWJ Newsradio 950's Stephanie Davis reports that agent Christoper Hess testified that D'Andre Lane's statement about cell phone calls made are inconsistant with his cell phone records on the day his daughter, 2-year old Bianca Jones, was alledgely kidnapped in a carjacking.
"Based on the route he indicated to us, during that drive, and the orientation of the towers, I would have expected call activity to be on 132 and 133 ... (alluding to cell phone towers in the area).
D'Andre Lane's 16-year old nephew was called to the stand by the prosecutor to talk about Lane spanking Bianca with a stick, the day she disappeared.
He said Lane spanked the 2-year old for soiling her underpants. The nephew said Lane wanted to prove the stick didn't hurt so Lane hit his nephew with it.
The defense said it was all in fun:
"You mentioned that your Uncle hit you on the thigh with a stick or paddle one time?
Nephew: "Yes."
"And it was all in fun?"
Nephew: "Yes."
"Like when you guys were wrestling earlier?"
Nephew: "Yes."
The prosecutor asked the nephew: "When you usually play and wrestled, your uncle, does he usually hit you with a stick."
Nephew: "No."
