Pregnant Woman Among Victims In Deadly Detroit Shooting -- Baby Saved
DETROIT (WWJ) - A pregnant woman is one of two victims killed in a shooting Sunday afternoon in Detroit.
Detroit police are searching for a suspect who fatally shot a 25-year-old man outside a home near Joy and West Chicago on Detroit's west side.
Detroit Police Sgt. Michael Woody said the suspect also killed a 23-year-old woman who was nine months pregnant.
"It appears that this is not a random act of violence - it seems like there is a specific target," said Woody.
The medics were able to convey her to the Henry Ford Hospital where the doctors performed an emergency C-section and were able to save the baby's life. The baby, a girl, is in good condition.
Woody says the suspect also injured a 75-year-old man, who is reportedly in serious condition and is believed to be the grandfather of the male victim.
Police are looking for a 2006 Pontiac G6 , silver or gray in color with a Michigan license plate C-L-B- 3-0-6-4 -- and has blue tape across the back of it.
The suspect is described as a young man in his early 20's.
Anyone with information is asked to call Detroit police.
