Predators 3, Red Wings 2
NASHVILLE, TN (WWJ/AP) - The Detroit Red Wings pull goalie Joey MacDonald late in the game but could not connect - losing 3-2 to the Nashville Predators on Saturday night.
As heard on WXYT 1270 - the Red Wings played a spirited game against Nashville but just fall short.
The Predators got on the board first but the Wings' Drew Miller tied the score within seconds in the first period.
Andrei Kostitsyn was assisted by his brother, Sergei, on a pair of power-play goals to lead the Nashville Predators to the win over the Wings.
Patric Hornqvist also scored for Nashville.
Justin Abdelkader had a goal for Detroit. Both teams scored within a 13-second span of the first period.
Pekka Rinne made 35 saves for his 38th win of the season. Joey MacDonald stopped 17 shots for Detroit.
The Detroit Red Wings take on the L.A. Kings Tuesday at 10:30 p.m.
