Prayer Vigil Held To Remember Those Killed At Sikh Temple
MADISON HEIGHTS (WWJ) - Sikhs from metro Detroit gathered Monday evening at a temple in Madison Heights to remember the victims killed in a Sikh Temple near Milwaukee on Sunday.
Jasvir Singh attended the vigil at the Sikh Society of Michigan and said they are saddened by what happened.
"We are getting together to show our unity, not just the Sikhs but all local communities - that we are going to stand united against such acts of violence and terrorism," said Singh.
Singh says its hard to say why he targeted that temple.
"Peace and humanity, peace for their souls, to let their souls rest in peace - the ones that died. We are praying for the police officer ... we just want peace," said a 17-year-old vigil attendee.
The suspect in the shootings killed six people, before police shot and killed him.
