Power Outages Down To 23K After Storms, High Winds
SOUTHFIELD (WWJ/AP) - DTE Energy crews have restored power to over 75 percent of the thousands of homes and business knocked offline following three days of storms packing high winds.
About 23,000 of DTE's 150,000 affected customers were offline at midday Tuesday, including around 15,000 in Oakland County, 5,000 in Wayne County and 2,000 in Macomb County. Crews from Ohio, Indiana and Wisconsin are assisting.
Strong winds, with gusts up to 60 mph, caused more than 300 power lines to come down, along with tree limbs and branches. Oakland County was the hardest hit.

Elsewhere in the state, Consumers Energy says 7,000 of its more than 149,000 affected customers remain without power. Outages include about 1,950 in Montcalm County, about 800 in Newaygo County and about 770 in Muskegon County.
