Pontiac Woman Struck By Van Driven By Son

A Pontiac woman may lose her leg after the car she was riding in was struck by a van being driven by her son.

Pontiac Police Sgt. Kevin Braddock tells The Oakland Press all three victims involved in the 3:30 a.m. Tuesday accident are related and suspected of being drunk.

Braddock said the son, a 21-year-old Pontiac resident, was driving a southbound van when it struck a car being driven by his aunt and carrying his mother.

The man suffered minor injuries, his aunt broke her arm and his mother suffered a serious injury that may result in amputation. All three were treated at a hospital.

An investigation is ongoing. Toxicology results are pending.
