Pontiac Teen Shot In Face Not Expected To Survive
PONTIAC (WWJ) - A Pontiac teenager is on life support after being shot in the face by another teen.
The Oakland County Sheriff's Office said the 17-year-old girl and 18-year-old boy were in a home in the 100 block of W. Rutgers, near Columbia and Baldwin avenues, around 4:05 p.m. Tuesday when the shooting occurred.
Police arrived at the home and found the girl unresponsive in a bedroom with "an obvious gunshot wound to the face." She was rushed McLaren Hospital, where she remains on life support. Doctors say she's not expected to survive.
The 18-year old and another witness were taken to the police department for questioning. Police say investigators found the gun in a garbage can behind the house.
An investigation is ongoing.
