Dad Killed Allegedly Trying To Keep Son Out Of Gang Activity
PONTIAC (WWJ) - A 15-year-old boy from Pontiac has been taken into custody for the murder of his father in a home near M-59 and Martin Luther King.
The victim is identified as 40-year-old Leo Stewart. According to deputies, Stewart got into an argument with his son regarding the son's involvement in gang activity.
When Stewart tried to stop his son from leaving the home, deputies say they teenager stabbed his father to death.
Family members say the teenager was expelled from Pontiac schools a week ago due to behavioral problems.
He is currently being held at Oakland County Children's Village pending charges.
Oakland County Sheriff Michael Bouchard calls it a " very sad and tragic" case.
