Pontiac Celebrates New Business In The City
PONTIAC (WWJ) - A group of local business and civic organizations in Pontiac are holding a celebration to welcome nearly 60 new businesses which have opened in the city since January.
"From lawyers, software and IT, down through retail, bars, clubs ... it's the full gamut that we're opening up, so it's amazing," said Glen Konopaski, Vice President of the Pontiac Downtown Business Association.
"The restaurants are starting to fill up ... getting a little bit harder to get a seat, but it's a good thing. Friday nights are really picking up, too, with the cruise going on and everything else, so the nightlife is coming back," Konopaski told WWJ.
Konopaski said local businesses are pumping new life into the area and all of them are out to help each other out.
Celebrations are being held in Pontiac Friday, with sidewalk sales and specials at a restaurants. A Pontiac Pub-crawl takes place from 5 p.m. to 10 p.m. Friday night.
