Police: Warren Woman Offered 4-Year-Old Daughter Online For Sex
WARREN (WWJ) - A 25-year-old Warren woman is jailed on a $500,000 bond after allegedly offering up her 4-year-old daughter to a man for sexual activity.
Jennifer Brys and 26-year-old Edward Reardon have each been charged with child sexually abusive activity and using a computer to commit a crime.
"It's disturbing," said Warren Police Commissioner Jere Green. "You have a mom who you think would do anything to protect the safety of her child that does just the opposite for greed."
"There's a couple elements here that we have to look at," he said. "You know, you had this predator out there and there is some history with him. I don't think this was his first rodeo."
Green said Reardon, who met Brys on the Internet, asked if he could shower with the little girl and requested to see a nude picture.
"She actually sent a photograph of her daughter clothed, but I mean that just takes it a step further," said Green, "and I saw the photo that they sent, and it pulls at your heart to see a little 4-year-old girl standing there smiling in front of a camera — little innocent girl thinking she's posing for a photograph, not knowing that she's being offered up for these acts."
Green said Reardon had also asked Brys if she could recruit some other young girls between the ages of seven and 12.
it all came to light, allegedly, when the girl's father found text messages between the two and called police.
Green said Brys and Reardon each face up to 35 years in prison if convicted.
The child is now in the care of her paternal grandparents.
