Police Uncover Pot Plants In Monroe County Corn Field
RAISINVILLE TWP. (WWJ) - Police in Monroe County say they've uncovered an outdoor marijuana growing operation that included more than 3,400 plants. They were found growing in a corn field behind a home in Raisinville Township, west of Monroe.
Officials said the Michigan State Police's Monroe Area Narcotics Team and Investigative Services (M.A.N.T.I.S.) worked with the Monroe County Sheriff's Office, Drug Enforcement Administration, and the Michigan Air National Guard to bust the opperation.
According to police, several people have been questioned, but no one has been arrested yet as the investigation continues.
The plants, which were only in a "juvienile stage" were seized.
