Police: U-M Pediatrician Found With Child Porn
ANN ARBOR (WWJ) - A University of Michigan pediatrician is accused of possessing child porn.
The 36-year-old Dr. Stephen Jenson, arrested last Friday, is facing four counts of possession of child sexually abusive material.
Jenson, who is in his fourth year as a medical resident at the University of Michigan Health System, was allegedly found with a thumb drive containing the pornography.
Diane Brown with campus security said an investigation started after hospital security alleged that Jenson possessed the pornography. Police then searched the doctor's home and removed his computer.
Brown told WWJ Newsradio 950's Marie Osborne it is believed that Jenson did not harm any children in his care.
"We have no evidence to indicate that any of the patients were involved in any of these images," she said. "And we don't have any evidence of him committing any kind of illegal activity or behavior with patients."
Jenson is out on $10,000 personal bond and is expected back in court for a preliminary examination on December 28.
He has been suspended from practicing at U-M.
