Police Still Searching For Man Who Attacked 2 Women Outside Their Homes
FARMINGTON HILLS (WWJ) - Police in Farmington Hills and Northville are still looking for the man responsible for brutally attacking two women last week.
Police say the two separate incidents occurred on Wednesday, January 16, but they believe the assaults were committed by the same man. In an effort to find the suspect, investigators have released a sketch of the man believed to be responsible for the attacks.
The suspect is described as a black male, approximately 35-years-old, 5'10" to 6'2" with a medium build. His vehicle is described as a light brown, four door, late 90's model Ford Taurus.
Northville police say the man approached a 69-year-old woman in the driveway of her home on Lake Street around 11 a.m. The woman told police that the man asked her if she wanted to take a survey and when she asked for his identification, he attacked her.
Farmington Hills police a 42-year-old female was attacked around 10:45 p.m. at the Village Green Condominium Complex, near 8 Mile Road and Grand River Avenue. The woman told police she was inside the exterior entrance to her apartment building when she was assaulted with a club-type weapon and seriously injured.
In both cases, the suspect robbed the women of their purses and cell phones. Both women were hospitalized with serious head injuries after the attacks.
Police say evidence of the assault in Northville was recovered in a wooded area between Founders Sports Park and the Green Hill Apartment Complex, located near 8 Mile and Halsted roads in Farmington Hills.
Investigators are requesting the assistance of anyone who may have observed:
• Any suspicious persons or activities at Founders Sports Park or Green Hill Apartment Complex between 11 a.m. and 5 p.m. on Wednesday, January 16, 2013.
• Any suspicious persons or activities at the Village Green Condominium Complex at approximately 10:45 p.m. on Wednesday, January 16, 2013 -- particularly the driver of a white SUV type vehicle that was traveling westbound on 8 Mile Road in the right curb lane and was almost struck by the suspect vehicle exiting the complex.
