Police Shoot Carjacking Suspect Following Chase
SOUTHFIELD (WWJ) - A 26-year-old Detroit man was shot and arrested after police say he carjacked another man at gunpoint at a Southfield gas station.
Police said they chased the suspect, who fled in the victim's car, down Telegraph Road near Civic Center Drive. When they stopped the man, he fled on foot.
Police fired several times at the suspect, who was hit.
Tom Croud and others who work at an office complex near Civic Center Drive watched the whole thing unfold.
"People in meetings, in the office, just happened to look out the windows. We have windows that we can easily see out and saw the action," Croud said. "It happened quickly."
The suspects injuries at not life-threatening. No one else was injured.
