Police Seek Vehicle, Tips In Murder Of Sterling Heights Mom

DETROIT (WWJ) - Have you seen this car?

Michigan State Police are reaching out to the public for help as they continue to investigate the murder of a 32-year-old Sterling Heights woman -- shot and killed on I-75 back in February.

MSP Lieutenant Michael Shaw says it appears as if the victim -- Jennifer Ann Scavone, a mother of four, was being followed from her  job at Bouzouki Lounge in Greektown.

"There are some good videos in the area, as far as gown in Greektown goes, that we got the vehicle that we believe was following Miss. Scavone from her place of employment," Shaw said. "The vehicle we're looking for is possibly a 20o4 to 2006 Dodge Stratus. It's either gray or silver or color."

Lieutenant Shaw says the unique thing about the vehicle...is it is missing both the front wheel covers and may have damage to the trunk lid and right front quarter panel.

Scavone was found slumped over her steering wheel without a pulse around 3:40 a.m. Feb. 9. Investigators say her body was discovered by a MDOT Courtesy Van driver who saw Scavone's bullet-riddled SUV idling on the shoulder of northbound I-75 between Mack and Warren Ave.

An autopsy showed she died from multiple gunshot wounds.

Anyone who has information about the car or about this crime is asked to call Crime Stoppers at 1-800-SPEAK-UP.
