Police Seek Tips In Murder Of Troy Gas Station Clerk
TROY (WWJ) - Police are hoping for some help from the public to solve the case of a murdered gas station employee.
The Troy clerk shot dead Saturday has been identified 63-year-old Athir Putres of Rochester Hills.
Police said teenage customers discovered Putres' body behind the counter at the Clark Gas Station on Rochester Road and South Boulevard, dead of a gunshot wound to the head.
On Monday, police were reviewing surveillance video from the gas station. They're also relying on cameras from other nearby businesses for leads of a possible suspect.
"We are looking anywhere, we have investigators going to other businesses also," Troy Police Sergeant Andy Breidench said. "But we are just going to look for anything we can that may contribute anything to our investigation."
Breidench they're checking out tips they've already received.
Without a motive or suspect, Breidench said Troy police still need the public's help.
"We're investigating numerous tips that have come in and actively investigating all tips," Breidench said. "We're still looking for further tips from the public reference to anything regarding the Clark Gas station and actual shooting between the time periods of 12:15 p.m. to 1:30 p.m. on Saturday, February 8th."
