Police Seek Tips In Liquor Store Murder
Southfield police are stepping up their investigation into the fatal shooting of a liquor store owner. On October 6th at 4 p.m., 48-year old Mazim Khomorro was gunned down outside of Cronin's Liquor Store on Northwestern Highway near Franklin Road.
Southfield Police Chief Joseph Thomas said they believe the shooter may have been driving a black GMC Envoy. Thomas told reporters Thursday that they are looking for any leads.
"We've got reason to belive that somebody very close to the victim, somebody that knows the victim well -- somebody that knows the store operation well, knows something about this," Thomas said.
The shooter, who police believe may have been waiting outside for the victim for more than an hour, fatally shot Khomorro while he was taking out the trash.
Khomorro's sister pleaded tearfully Thursday for anyone with information to come forward.
"He was a good father, and a good brother, and a good son and a good friend to all of us... Please, anybody. Please, just help us... anything, any small thing," she said.
Police say that it may just be a small thing that cracks this case.
