Police Seek Man Suspected Of Killing Cash Advance Clerk In Taylor
TAYLOR (WWJ/AP) - Police are looking to identify a man who is suspected of killing an employee at a Downriver cash advance shop during an apparent robbery.
Taylor police on Wednesday released security camera images showing the man suspected in the death of 30-year-old Chelsea Ann Small of Gibraltar.
Officers found Small's body around noon on Tuesday while responding to a holdup alarm at Advance America Cash Advance on Telegraph Road, near I-94. Police said Small, the mother of two young children, was shot multiple times.
The suspect, who made off with a small amount of cash, was gone by the time police arrived.
Police believe Small, who had only worked at the store for a few months, was the only employee working at the time. The store has a security entrance that customers have to buzzed-in through, but police aren't sure if Small knew her killer.
Other details surrounding the incident are fairly limited and police are hoping the public can help them tie up some loose ends.
Anyone with information on the crime or suspect is asked to call police at 734-287-6611.
